Event Description
Come join a Quogue Wildlife Refuge Educator for a guided springtime woodland hike around the Refuge trails. Learn about various woodland habitats including the Pine Barrens, a field, a pond, and a bog. Topics include local flora and fauna, fire ecology, forest layers, decomposition, succession, and habitat protection. The animals in the outdoor wildlife complex are native New York animals that have permanent disabilities and are unable to survive in the wild. Program is rain or shine, meet at the entrance booth of the Refuge's main entrance - 3 Old Country Rd, Quogue, NY 11959 (please visit QWR website for directions as certain GPS systems will bring you to East Quogue).
