Shed the Meds

Looking to get rid of unwanted or expired medications in a way that is safe and protects our environment? Safely disposing of medication prevents pollution of our ground water and keeps them out of the hands of young children and others who might abuse them. The Suffolk County Sheriff's Department will be here in our parking lot to accept your unwanted medications. All medications must be emptied from their containers and placed loosely in a zip-lock bag. Only pills are collected. No liquids, sharps or needles will be accepted. This will be a safe, socially distant, drive-thru, contactless program. No registration required.
