Event Description
In the United States, food waste is currently estimated at 30-40 percent of our food supply. This adds up to a total of approximately 133 billion pounds and $161 billion worth of food in 2020. Most of us do not realize how often we waste food and the variety of negative impacts it can have on food security, the environment, and climate change. This presentation will discuss ways to reduce food loss and waste, and some helpful tips to get the most out of your food. We will also touch on the importance of maintaining food safety, and ways to prevent foodborne illnesses.
This program will be presented as a Zoom meeting. You can attend this program online or via telephone. The URL and phone number for the "meeting" will be emailed to all registrants upon completion of registration and also one hour prior to start time.
