Psychology professor ShamSher Tariq will discuss the case of Gene Wiley, an abused child raised in silence, strapped to a chair, and who suffered from sever neglect and negligence. Mr. Tariq will discuss her case from both the language acquisition process, primarily focusing on the critical period theory of language acquisition, and the psychological effects of her abuse.
