Event Description
All are welcome to celebrate Earth Day at the library! Make a bee bundle and create a seed bundle to take home for your garden. Visit our interactive displays, get information about nature activities, including those conducted by the Town of Brookhaven Environmental Educator Nicole Pocchiare, and learn about local marine wildlife in a touch tank provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension. Learn about various topics that can positively shape Earth's future, like home gardening, beekeeping, and backyard chickens. Learn about the Galapagos Islands with Christopher Weaver and Michael Salvarezza as they take us above and below the waters at 11:30 am in the Community Room (Adult registration required for this portion of the Earth Day event)! Also, meet the chicks hatched in the Children’s Department before they go back to the farm! The first 30 families or patrons to arrive will receive a special earth-friendly gift!
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS LECTURE AT 11:30 AM ONLY. REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED TO VISIT THE EARTH DAY FAIR IN THE CLEMENS ROOM.
