Program Description
Event Description
All are welcome to celebrate Earth Day at the library! Make a recycles craft and create a seed bundle to take home for your garden. Learn about the Wildlife Rescue Center and how you can help if you find an injured wildlife and learn about local marine wildlife in a touch tank provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension from 10:00-11:30 am. Explore various topics that can positively shape Earth's future from our tables of experts, like vegetarian cooking, bee keeping, and backyard chickens. Also meet some chicks and ducklings from the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank. The first 30 families or patrons to arrive will receive a handmade Earth Day tote bag filled with a recycled bird feeder made by the library’s True North teen volunteers and a vegetable plant to take home to start their very own garden donated by the Friends of the Library.
