The Common Good

The Common Good is the culmination of band leader Dean Steiding’s decade’s long love affair with American roots music. It is a genre that is broad enough to include old-time string band music to modern jazz-influenced blues.  The Common Good does it all, and everything in between. In addition, the band will perform some of Mr. Steiding’s original compositions. 

In addition, the band performs many of Mr. Steiding’s original compositions.  These songs are populated by characters and themes that are clearly informed by this “Americana” sensibility. If you close your eyes, the music just might take you to a time and a place where the most urgent priority is meeting up with your sweetheart at the county fair.
