Bookstormers: Book Club for 7th, 8th & 9th Graders (Teens)

Join the Teen Services Librarians for a monthly book club where we play games, eat snacks, and talk about awesome books! This month, we'll discuss:

Freestyle by Gale Galligan

Eighth grader Cory is part of the Eight Bitz break dance crew. While the group prepares for their last competition before they go to different high schools, they start to have problems as their crew captain gets increasingly intense about nailing the routine. To make things worse, Cory’s parents ground him for not taking his grades seriously and hire Sunna to tutor him, but there’s more to this tutor than meets the eye. With mounting pressure coming from all sides, how is Cory supposed to balance the expectations of his parents, school, dance, and friends?

Attendees who read the book and participate in the group book review at the program will receive 3 hours of community service.
