Event Description

Come 'read up a storm!' with our newest book discussion! Join librarians from both the LPL and LJH as we discuss:

The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora by Pablo Cartaya

Thirteen-year-old Arturo is looking forward to a summer filled with ice cream, hanging out with his two best friends and working at his family’s Miami restaurant. However, things become increasingly complicated when a land developer threatens to close the family restaurant and replace it with a high-rise apartment building. Arturo must find a way to save the family restaurant all while navigating his first crush.

Attendees who read the book and participate in the group book review at the program will receive 3 hours of community service.

This program will take place in the library at the Longwood Junior High School and on Google Meet. A late bus will be provided at 4pm for participants who attend in person, but you must be registered to attend.

Borrowing Guidelines

Valid Adult Longwood Public Library Card in good standing.
A maximum of three items from this collection may be borrowed at a time.
Equipment & Gadgets are available at the Adult Reference Desk and must be returned to the Circulation Desk. Gadgets placed on hold may be checked out at the at the Circulation Desk when ready for pickup. Equipment & Gadgets may not be returned to the book drop.
If any item is lost or damaged, the full value of the item will be charged to the patron account.
The library has a limited number of items in the collection; if the item comes back late or is lost, the library may not be able to honor reservations.
The use of some items may require precertification or training; if there are any precertification requirements, there will be a link in the item description to the required training.
