Come 'read up a storm!' with our newest book discussion! Join librarians from both the LPL and LJH as we discuss:
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba
William Kamkwamba was born in Malawi, a country withered by drought and hunger. William had read about windmills in a book called Using Energy, and he dreamed of building one that would bring electricity and water to his village and change his life. Although his neighbors called him crazy, William refused to let go of his dreams, forging an unlikely contraption and small miracle that made him an inspiration to those around the world. Attendees who read the book and participate in the group book review at the program will receive 3 hours of community service.
