Program Description

Event Description

Join Adult Reference librarian Carlton Welch on Zoom for a discussion of some of the entertainment available from the library.  Patrons are encouraged to watch the films before attending the discussion sessions and will have an opportunity to share what they have been watching and hopefully learn about other media they can watch in the future.

Tonight we will be discussing Shoplifters (NR, 120 mins.), starring Lily Franky.  On the margins of Tokyo, a dysfunctional band of outsiders are united by fierce loyalty, a penchant for petty theft and playful grifting.  When the young son is arrested, secrets are exposed that upend their tenuous, below-the-radar existence and test their quietly radical belief that it is love, not blood, that defines family.  You can borrow it on Hoopla with your library card or reserve it on DVD.

This program will be presented as a Zoom meeting. The URL and phone number for the meeting will be emailed to all registrants before the program.

Not sure how to use Zoom? Take a tutorial with our Tech Librarian Alison.
