Event Description

Join us for this presentation by Bill Bleyer based on his book, Fire Island Lighthouse- Long Island's Welcoming Beacon. It is the first complete history of this national landmark. It will cover the site from the shipwrecks offshore dating from colonial times that prompted construction of the first lighthouse on Fire Island in 1826; to how the Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society was formed in 1982 to restore the property and re-lit the tower in 1986.

This program will be presented as a Zoom meeting.  You can attend this program online or via telephone. The URL and phone number for the "meeting" will be emailed to all registrants before the program.
