DESCRIPTION: Conducts and operates year-round recreational activities for mentally handicapped and disabled children and adults of the Town of Brookhaven. Programs for adults 15 years and older include weekly bowling, dances, miniature golf, movie nights, bingo nights, Monday night swim at Mastic Pool, exercise nights and Zumba Mondays. Summer recreation for youth ages 5-11 years of age include arts & crafts, physical education and games.  It is a half day program held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Holtsville Ecology Site.

DESCRIPTION: To promote growth for low-income, disadvantaged children, by providing them with a structured recreational experience for 1-3 weeks during the summer. Sends children to either day or sleep-away camps in New York/New Jersey region. There is a $10 application fee per child. Children must be between 4-16. Poverty guidelines are followed for camp placement. The program accepts referrals from anywhere in Suffolk County. Applications available in January.
