DESCRIPTION: Conducts and operates year-round recreational activities for mentally handicapped and disabled children and adults of the Town of Brookhaven. Programs for adults 15 years and older include weekly bowling, dances, miniature golf, movie nights, bingo nights, Monday night swim at Mastic Pool, exercise nights and Zumba Mondays. Summer recreation for youth ages 5-11 years of age include arts & crafts, physical education and games.  It is a half day program held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Holtsville Ecology Site.

DESCRIPTION: The Staller Center includes a 1000-seat Main Stage theater and 400-seat recital hall, black box theaters, and the spacious University Art Gallery. World-class music concerts, classica, jazz and pop, dance programs, and theatrical productions are presented from September to May. The Stony Brook Film Festival comes to the Staller Center in July, presenting new independent films from around the world. A film series every semester is available to campus and community, and the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts live and in high definition each season.
